The project I am currently working on is about Zetland teenagers and summer jobs. I have found a pie chart showing the results of a survey conducted among Zetland teenagers on this topic. In this essay, I will analyse the data and provide my opinion on the subject of the project.

According to the pie chart, the most popular response to the question “Why do you want to take a summer job?” is “Earning pocket money” (35%), followed by “Becoming more independent” (30%). The least frequently chosen option is “Helping parents”, at 6%.

Comparing the data, it is clear that the percentage of respondents who choose “Learning new skills” (22%) is much higher than the percentage of those who opt for “Meeting new friends” (7%). This may be because practical skills can be useful for future education and employment, while making friends is possible in many other situations.

Notably, one problem teenagers can face when taking a summer job is having to work too many hours and losing time for rest. A good solution is to choose legal part-time employment with a clear schedule and agree on working hours before accepting the job.

In conclusion, I believe that a summer job can be very useful because it teaches responsibility and gives practical experience. However, it is not essential for every teenager, since health, studies and personal circumstances should also be taken into account.
