Hi, Fred! It's Charlie. I just want to tell you that you were lucky to be late for that film we saw today. Really lucky! Because I've never seen anything more stupid! I was about to give up in the middle of the film and leave but Kate and Alice turned me into staying up to the end but they didn't like it either. Now I feel silly for spending so much time and money for nothing. Anyway, call me back when you have time. Both Kate and Alice send you their regards.

Alex: Carol! It's nice to see you again!
Carol: I heard you've been to Australia, haven't you?
Alex: Yes, I lived there with my parents for six months.
Carol: Sounds like a long trip! Were your parents working there?
Alex: Yes, they still do. Dad signed a two-year contract with a construction company in Melbourne. Mum decided to stay there, too.
Carol: And you? Are you planning to live here or to go back to Australia?
Alex: I have to stay here in England with my aunt's family. I'd like to complete my school education here and go to university in Britain. Construction engineering, like dad.

Joanna: Nothing! I've been trying to contact you since yesterday, but you never answer. Is your phone switched off or have you blocked me?
Tim: Oh, no, certainly not. I've just got a new phone number. Sorry I did not tell you.
Joanna: Why, what happened?
Tim: I lost my phone, I must have left it somewhere. So I had to buy a new one together with the sim-card. Just a minute. I'll call you and you'll get my number. And why did you call?
Joanna: Mia and I are going on a picnic this Sunday. Care to join us?
