Noise pollution influences not only people, but also wildlife and ecosystems. To begin with, many animals rely on sound for communication, mating, and locating prey. Too much noise can mask these sounds, leading to miscommunication. Thus, animals may change their natural behaviour to avoid noisy areas. It can affect their feeding patterns and create stress. When animals experience too much stress, they get ill more often.
All these changes in animals’ behaviour can ruin the balance of ecosystems. If predators cannot find their prey or animals find it hard to produce their offspring, certain species can decline while others may start to prevail. Scientists are worried about noise pollution and its impact on wildlife. Creating quiet environments will greatly improve the quality of life for all living beings and support the natural harmony of our planet.
