Interviewer: Hello everybody! It’s Teenagers Round the World Channel. Our guest today is a teenager from Russia and we are going to discuss teenagers’ attitude to local places of interest. We’d like to know our guest’s point of view on this issue. Please answer five questions. So, let’s get started.

I live in a small region called the Vladimir Oblast, which is located about 200 kilometres east of Moscow. Our region is famous for its ancient towns like Suzdal and Vladimir, which are part of the Golden Ring of Russia and are known for their beautiful white-stone cathedrals and monasteries. Tourists should visit them because they are UNESCO World Heritage sites and offer a unique glimpse into Russia's medieval history and architecture.
Interviewer: Is it important to preserve historical places? Why or why not?
Yes, it is extremely important to preserve historical places because they are a part of our identity and help us understand our past. They also attract tourists, which supports the local economy and helps pass on cultural traditions to future generations.
Interviewer: What is your favourite place in your home town? Why do you like it?
My favourite place in my home town is the local riverside embankment, where you can walk along the river and enjoy beautiful views of the old town. I like it because it's peaceful, and I often go there to relax, read a book, or watch the sunset with my friends.
Interviewer: What sort of places will be interesting for people in the future? Why do you think so?
I think future generations will be interested in places related to space exploration and modern technology, such as interactive museums and planetariums. People will also value eco-tourism and natural landscapes because as cities grow, people will want to escape to peaceful and untouched environments.
Interviewer: How can we make teenagers be more interested in local culture?
We can make teenagers more interested in local culture by organising interactive excursions, quests, and festivals that are engaging and fun rather than boring lectures. Also, schools should include more practical activities, such as visiting museums and historical sites, and using modern technology like virtual reality to bring history to life.
