Interviewer: Hello everybody. It's Teenagers Round the World channel. Our guest today is a teenager from Russia and we are going to discuss teenagers' attitude to family. We’d like to know our guest’s point of view on this issue. Please answer five questions. So, let’s get started.

My family is not very large — I live with my parents and my younger sister. We are quite close, and we enjoy spending time together, especially on weekends and holidays, often going for walks, watching films, or having dinner together.
Interviewer: What is a typical Russian family like?
A typical Russian family usually consists of parents and one or two children, and grandparents often play an active role in bringing up the grandchildren. Russian families tend to be close-knit, with strong ties between generations, and family gatherings are an important part of life, especially during holidays.
Interviewer: Why do you think it is important to have understanding parents?
It is important to have understanding parents because they provide emotional support and guidance during difficult times, especially during adolescence. When parents are understanding, teenagers feel more confident to share their problems and seek advice, which strengthens the bond between them.
Interviewer: Does your family have any traditions? If yes, what are they? If no, would you like to start some?
Yes, my family has several traditions, such as celebrating New Year together with a big dinner and watching the president's address on TV. We also have a tradition of going to the countryside for a barbecue on the first warm weekend of spring, which is something we all look forward to.
Interviewer: How do you think the notion of family will change in the future? Why?
I think the notion of family will become more diverse in the future, with more non-traditional family structures like single-parent families or couples without children becoming common. However, the core value of family — love, support, and care — will remain the same, because people will always need close relationships to feel safe and happy.
