Speaker A. I think everybody should train their memory. We have become too much dependent on our gadgets. When I asked my friends if they remembered the telephone numbers of their nearest and dearest, no one could tell me even five digits. We simply can't imagine our lives without our mobile phones with daily planners installed there. We don't remember the birthdays of our friends if our social media don't remind us about them. I think it's wrong.
Speaker B. I train my memory every day. My friends sometimes think it's funny and they don't understand why I learn so many poems by heart or why I memorize a formula which anybody can look up on the Internet. But I honestly think that learning things by heart is the best way to train your memory. Many scientists say that it helps. Some teachers feel sorry that students don't learn so many things by heart anymore. It used to really improve the academic results of their students.
Speaker C. I do understand how important it is to have a good memory. I think I have found a very good way to improve it. I learn Latin. I know it's a dead language and no one speaks it anymore, but that's actually the point of learning Latin. I've read in history books that in the past, schools made students learn a lot of foreign languages. It made them really intelligent and developed their memory. I want to be like them, so I bought a Latin textbook and practice every day.
Speaker D. My parents and teachers have been talking about the importance of training one's memory for a long time, but I just can't understand why they think it's so important to do it. You can have a daily planner and a notebook, or you can use your mobile phone for taking notes. Who needs to memorize phone numbers, dates, and other things if it takes just a few seconds to look this information up? I'm good enough without any memory exercises, thank you.
Speaker E. In my opinion, we pay too much attention to various exercises to train our memory, totally forgetting that our memory depends on many other things. Doctors say you should eat a lot of fruit and vegetables to have a good memory. Vitamin pills can also help. We must also spend enough time outdoors, breathing fresh air. It's equally important to think positively and spend some quality time with your friends. Your memory depends on your lifestyle.
Speaker F. If you ask me, well, it's easy for me to remember things. My secret is relatively simple. I use various techniques to do it. When I was a child, I found it hard to remember many things, and my father gave me a book about some techniques how to remember things better. They included inventing special codes or building associations. I had much fun studying the book. I started to apply these techniques, and they helped. They still do, in fact.
