Interviewer: Hello everybody! It’s Teenagers Round the World Channel. Our guest today is a teenager from Russia and we are going to discuss teenagers' attitude to celebrating birthdays. We’d like to know our guest’s point of view on this issue. Please answer five questions. So, let’s get started.
Interviewer: How do you usually celebrate your birthday?

I usually celebrate my birthday with my family and close friends. We have a nice dinner at home or sometimes go to a cafe, and then I invite my friends over for cake and music.
Interviewer: What birthday traditions do you have in your family?
In my family, we have a tradition of waking the birthday person up with a cheerful "Happy Birthday" song and giving small presents in the morning. We also always bake a homemade cake together, and the birthday person gets to make a wish before blowing out the candles.
Interviewer: What's the best birthday present you've received?
The best birthday present I've ever received was a new laptop from my parents two years ago. It was a huge surprise and very useful for my studies, especially during the pandemic when we switched to online learning.

I prefer my birthday presents to be a surprise because it makes the day more exciting and special. However, for expensive or practical gifts like gadgets or clothes, I sometimes give hints to my parents so that they don't buy something I don't need.
Interviewer: What is your best birthday memory? Why?
My best birthday memory is my 14th birthday, when my parents organised a small party in our garden with fairy lights, a barbecue, and all my closest friends. I remember feeling so happy and grateful because everyone had made an effort to be there and make the day unforgettable for me.
