A summer by the lake
Barbara and Michael were sister and brother – twelve and eight years old. They were (30) __________ vacation, but Barbara was bored out of her mind.
Ever since Michael was born, their family had been coming to Emerald Lake, a crystal blue lake which stretched as far as the eye could (31) __________.
They had stayed in the same cabin, an old wooden house just several steps from where the water met the sandy beach. And ever since Barbara was ten, she had hated coming here.
