Imagine that you are doing a project on unhealthy eating habits in Zetland. You have found some data on the subject – the results of a relevant survey conducted among children living in Zetland (see the table below).

Comment on the data in the table and give your opinion on the subject of the project.

Write 200–250 words.

Use the following plan:

– make an opening statement on the subject of the project;

– select and report 2-3 facts;

– make 1-2 comparisons where relevant and give your comments;

– outline a problem that can arise with eating too many sweets and suggest a way of solving it;

– conclude by giving and explaining your opinion on the importance of eating healthily for children.

You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.

Arctic foxes are well-adapted to survive in the frigid Arctic regions, both on land and sea ice within the Arctic Circle. The winters in the Arctic differ greatly from those in other parts of the world, with October to February being characterized by the absence of sunlight and its warmth.

Fortunately, these small foxes possess remarkable adaptations that aid their survival in the icy environment. Their long and fluffy tails serve as natural blankets, providing insulation and keeping the foxes warm when they wrap their tails around their bodies while sleeping. Additionally, their feet are equipped with a layer of thick fur, acting as built-in snow boots that muffle their footsteps, making it challenging for prey to detect them. Furthermore, their white coats serve as effective camouflage amidst the ice and snow, making it difficult for predators like wolves, polar bears, and golden eagles to spot them.

You are considering taking some martial arts classes and now you’d like to get more information. In 1.5 minutes you are to ask five direct questions to find out about the following:

1) location

2) duration of one class

3) number of sparring sessions a month

4) availability of first aid kit on site

You have 20 seconds to ask each question.

You are going to give an interview. You have to answer five questions. Give full answers to the questions (2-3 sentences).

Remember that you have 40 seconds to answer each question.

Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project “Travelling”. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to: 

• explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;

• mention the advantages (1–2) of the two ways of travelling;

• mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two ways of travelling;

• express your opinion on the subject of the project – which type of travelling you prefer and why.

You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
